Effect of Pakistani power quality on medical equipment lifespan
This is a topic I feel strongly about. Most medical equipment failures I see in Pakistan are related to power quality including voltage spikes, frequency variation, and extended outages during generator changeover. What protection are your hospitals using and what difference has it made?
Drager versus Mindray ventilators for Pakistani ICU conditions
Pakistan ICUs face unique challenges including power fluctuations, humidity, and dust. I have serviced both Drager Evita and Mindray SV series extensively. Drager is more robust but spares are expensive and import time is two to three weeks. Mindray spares are local. Discuss your experiences.
Siemens versus GE CT scanner Pakistan market comparison
Having worked with both Siemens Somatom and GE LightSpeed CT scanners in Pakistani hospitals, I want to share my experience. Siemens has better image quality in my opinion but GE spare parts are much more readily available locally. What has been your experience with these brands?
ICU ventilator to bed ratio recommendations for Pakistan hospitals
What ventilator to ICU bed ratio do Pakistani hospitals maintain? During COVID we learned that one to one ratio is ideal but financially not possible for most. We currently maintain point six to one. What is the standard in well-equipped Pakistani hospitals and what are the implications?
Portable X-ray machine comparison for Pakistan hospital ward rounds
Our hospital does daily ward rounds with portable X-ray. We have an old Siemens Polymobil and a newer Mindray DigiEye. The Mindray CR is much more convenient. Anyone using DR portable X-ray? Is the image quality difference worth the extra cost for ward radiography?
